堅振是信友領受天恩聖神的聖事，所以新竹教區在聖神降臨節舉行堅振聖事。6/9(日)下午，聖母聖心主教座堂陸續湧進準備領堅振者、代父母和參禮的教友，禮儀前半小時，聖堂已經滿座。
今年共有161位教友報名領受堅振聖事，實際領受聖事人數則為147位，他們分別來自新竹市主教座堂、聖神堂、聖家堂、聖若望堂、香山天主三堂、新竹縣竹北小德蘭堂、寶山聖母聖心堂、新埔聖若瑟堂、竹東無玷聖母堂、清泉聖十字架堂、苗栗頭份天上之母堂、桃園聖母聖心堂、大園耶穌君王堂、平鎮聖瑪利亞堂、中壢耶穌聖心堂、八德聖母升天堂等16個堂區；及新竹、桃園、中壢移民移工服務中心。
李克勉主教講道時提到教宗方濟各所推動的「2019特殊傳教月」，座右銘為「領洗教友與福傳使徒」，每位教友在領洗時即肩負傳教使命，這使命必須依靠聖神的引導推動，並在教會團體完中完成。
在領聖體後經後，李主教及劉丹桂主教發給所有領堅振者紀念品；河鏞國秘書長感謝各鐸區的禮儀服務人員，並特別歡迎專程從菲律賓來台擔任代父母的教友。
由於有1/3的外籍教友領受堅振，禮儀經文ppt全部採中英對照，讀經二及2個信友禱詞以英文誦念，新竹聯合聖詠團也特別選用了二首英文聖歌，彌撒前的預演及堅振禮儀更以中、英文雙語進行。以下是一位領堅振的外籍教友Marichu Penoliar (Teresa)所寫的一篇短文：
- I just can't contain my happiness because at last I'm already confirmed. I was a bit in tears during the ceremony and I never stop thanking the Lord during that day. I am truly grateful to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, finally my initiation as a Catholic has been strengthened and proven.It also helps me to understand more on how important this Sacrament which is just taken for granted by many because of misconception and thought that it is only a requirement if you are going to get married eventually in Catholic Church. I am truly thankful and amazed until this very day.I thanked also the Lord that the foreign workers catholic are warmly welcomed in this Diocese and there is a migrant's office who is facilitating and preparing us to receive the Sacraments.
